Introduction
The Conditions of Wudhu` are ten.
- Islam.
- Sanity.
- Age of discernment.
- Intention
- That the one performing it intends to fulfill it, not having the intention (to wash) for some other reason, until he has complete the processes of purification.
- That what caused one to have to make Wudhu` has stopped
- Before making Wudhu`, the performance of Istinja` (purify oneself from urine/stool/etc. using water) or Istijmar (purify oneself from urine/stool/etc. using stone or other permissible material - Ex. toilet paper..)
- Purity of water being used, and its being lawful.
- Removing anything (a stain, for example) that prevents the water from reaching one`s skin.
- That when one makes ablution, the time of prayer has arrived: This condition is particular to one who is affected with a sickness whereby he loses control of his bladder - for instance, causing him to urinate frequently.
